Ep 84 The Employee vs. Contractor Debate: Which is Right for Your Business

As an OT business owner, it can be challenging to decide when and who to hire first!

(We have a podcast on that, btw. Click here to listen!)

Most OT founders will inevitably hire a contractor first. Contractors are typically paid a flat fee, pay their own taxes and have more flexible working hours and project timelines. Plus, if you’re worried that you won’t have the business to provide them (think Feast and Famine of clients any given month), then contractors seems much safer.

Once you hit $100K and over, are in the growth and scale phase of your business and team leadership, I recommend you take an in depth look at hiring employees.

I know it’s scary.

But there are major advantages to your company, including utilizing Key Performance Indicators to ensure the growth of the employee and the company.

Listen here to take this common topic from overwhelming to “ok, ok. It’s starting to make lots of sense!”

Trish Williams

Hey there! I’m Trish.

I'm a warm, outspoken, driven Canadian OT turned business coach with a passion for helping other OT entrepreneurs build a profitable and lasting business. I have been an OT for 27 years and built two successful businesses. My #1 goal is to lay it all on the table to empower you with the tools and resources you need. I spent years as an entrepreneur working IN my business instead of ON my business, and I now know (and can share!) the benefits of truly embodying a CEO lifestyle. I’ve done a lot of growing (and it never truly ends) and unlocked keys to success in business and in life.

In a distinctly OT way.
